Embrace The Timeless Elegance Of West Baden Resort On Your Escape, By Melody Schubert & Leroy Worley

My husband and I traveled along the rolling hills and back roads of Indiana to the charming town of French Lick. It is here we checked into the beautiful West Baden Resort, which is one of the historic gems in French Lick, and is especially beautiful at night as you drive through the lit archway. The cobblestone driveway is lined with festively lit trees, twinkling gardens and old-world charm sets the scene for what?s to come.

Then, you enter West Baden Resort, and stand in awe as you gaze about the magnificent grand Atrium that is in the center of this timeless treasure. In the middle of the grand Atrium is a 40 foot tree with nearly 50,000 lights. The sounds of children and intimate couples laughing could be heard before a heavenly voice filled the air. Sitting by a huge fireplace decorated with gnomes was a young women, accompanied by several musicians playing for all our enjoyment.

Surrounding the Atrium where cozy couches and chairs, and tables with games where children entertained themselves, while some parents enjoyed an evening cocktail at the Ballard's Bar or coffee from Xanadu's Coffee Shop. Other guests dined at the Cafe at Sinclair's, and gazed around in amazement at the beautiful architecture and decorations. There is also a restaurant, and gift shops that carry unique items.

While there was some confusion with the dates of our reservation, it was not a problem. The wonderful staff resolved the issue, and then explained all the festivities taking place, and guided us to the elevator in minutes. The staff where always there when we needed them to answer our questions or reserve a time at the Spa. It was a perfect weekend to visit; filled with festivities both at the West Baden and French Lick Resort, which is just a short distance away.

Once settled into our room we visited the pool, which to our surprise was open until 12AM. This gave us plenty of time to relax and unwind, and enjoy soaking in the Hot Tub as well. We returned to our room later, which was very spacious and cozy. Outside the window we could  admire the holiday decorations and cheerful guests relaxing in the Atrium. As our first night came to end, we agreed that when it comes to comfort, the West Baden Resort has one of the most comfortable beds; not too hard or soft. When you travel often, you find many resorts offered great amenities and activities, yet forget about the comfort of the bed. Not so at the West Baden Resort, which provided not only exceptional service, but also considered our comfort on every level!

It's amazing to think we were sleeping in a room in which we were able to view under construction not so long ago. On our last visit the West Baden Resort they were still  restoring and adding finishing touches to the grand Atrium. We were amazed by the timeless beauty then, and even more so now that West Baden has been restored. It was a wonderful destination to enjoy a weekend getaway, and join the local festivities!

With the collection of packages available at the West Baden Resort it is easy to plan the perfect getaway. While we were there, they offered was a special Ring In The Romance Package that included luxurious accommodations, cocktails and hors d' oeuvres, dinner with wine, and a performances by The Stardusters Jazz Orchestra. There are also packages designed for guests to enjoy activities like golf at the Donald Ross, Valley Links, or Pete Dye Golf Courses and horseback riding at The Stables At French Lick, and treatments at The Spa At West Baden. Both resorts in French Lick are known for their mineral springs and treatments, which guests can now enjoy. The Spa At West Baden offers a Sprudel Bath in the mineral water, Aromatherapy Massages, and an assortment of treatments to ease away your cares.
